BASKABOO MYTHOS – CHAPTER 01
ODYSSEUS: THE FIRST BETA TESTER OF THE SIMULATION
Just beyond your window at Ulysses Hotel, directly above the Calypso Deep, begins the story that changed everything.
Odysseus was not simply a king trying to find his way home.
He was the first Beta Tester ever summoned by the Gods themselves.
For seven long years he remained “trapped” on Calypso’s island — not in an ordinary cave, but at the very entrance of the Naïtes Code Vault.
There, 5,267 metres below the surface, was stored the information of the Gods: the complete Living Code of the simulation that shaped the reality of the Heroic Age.
Calypso offered him the ultimate Exit Button: immortality — a way out of the system and eternal life beyond the mortal cycle.
He refused.
Instead, he tested the code.
He walked through every trial, discovered the bugs of human nature, recorded the exploits of the Gods, and downloaded the entire knowledge of the Deep.
It was never just a journey. It was a ten-year Beta Testing Session.
When he finally returned to Ithaca, it wasn’t only Odysseus who came back.
The Great Patch was activated.
Zeus, seeing that the Beta Tester had successfully completed the test, closed the Heroic Age.
The race of demigods came to an end.
The simulation moved to the next phase: from the Age of Gods and Heroes to the Iron Age — the age we live in today.
Odysseus was not the last hero.
He was the first human who understood we live inside a simulation… and chose to stay inside in order to change it.
That is why, even today, when you stand on the castle walls of Methoni and look toward the Bourtzi, you follow the exact same sacred axis he once walked: from the octagonal tower straight down to the depths of the Calypso Deep.
